FAQ
Everything you need to know about training with STANCE.
Who is STANCE for?
STANCE is built for lifters who are serious about making real progress in the squat, bench press, and deadlift — athletes who want objective data to replace guesswork in their training.
How accurate is STANCE?
Our sensor achieves a correlation coefficient of over 0.9 with a mean error of under 0.05 m/s, based on an internal study of over 5,000 reps compared against a linear encoder device. STANCE has also been independently assessed by elite coaches — including Mike Tuchscherer (vs RepOne), Pawel Jurczynski (vs Vitruve and Enode), Craig Spicer (vs GymAware Flex), and Emil Krastev (vs Vitruve) — all of whom confirmed satisfaction with the accuracy. We're also currently running a formal validation study with the University of Lincoln and University of Portsmouth, concluding in June 2026.
Does STANCE work on Android?
Not yet. We're planning to release the Android version in late Q3/early Q4 2026.
How does the Android pre-order work?
The tracker and app will be priced at £140 on Android release. By pre-ordering now for £30, you lock in a total price of £99 — a 30% saving. You'll only need to pay the remaining £69 when Android launches.
How does the RPE feature work?
RPE is personal, so the app needs to learn your data first. Start by tagging the RPE of your sets — the app will then build a chart comparing your RPE against bar speed. Over time, you'll be able to see what RPE a given bar speed corresponds to for you, helping you keep your effort ratings more objective.
Is the app free? / How do I download the app? / I can't find the app on the App Store. / It's asking for a code in TestFlight.
The app is free and included with your sensor — it's not publicly listed on the App Store. Download instructions are included with your tracker. There are two steps: first download TestFlight, then use the second link to install the STANCE app.
What languages does the app support?
English only at this time.
Can I use STANCE with multiple users? / Can I use STANCE with my clients as a coach?
STANCE is currently designed for one sensor and app per user — the app builds a personal profile based on your data, so mixing users will affect data accuracy. As a workaround, you can switch between users, but data will be combined. We're building an official coaching dashboard so coaches can manage multiple lifter profiles properly — this is on our roadmap.
Can I export my data?
Not yet, but it's one of our most-requested features and we plan to add it later in 2026.
Can I record data from two sensors in one session?
No. The tracker and app are designed for individual use, with one sensor per user. Multi-sensor support isn't available yet, but a coaching profile feature — allowing multiple lifters under one app — is planned for the future.
Is STANCE a subscription? Are there any ongoing costs?
No subscription is required for the current tracker and app features. In the future, we'll be releasing advanced personalised features and expanded exercise tracking, which will be subscription-based — but the core product remains a one-off purchase.
When will tempo variations be added?
Tempo variations are next on the roadmap after deadlifts. We're aiming to have this available in Q3 2026.
Can STANCE be used for supersets?
Yes, though it's not fully automated yet. You'll need to stop recording between sets and manually start a new recording for the next exercise. Auto-detection of sets isn't available at the moment.
When will my order be shipped?
Your estimated delivery time is shown at checkout and is specific to your country — the UK is 4–6 working days, the US 6–9, and most of Europe 4–9.
Which countries do you ship to and will I have to pay duties or import taxes?
If yours appears at checkout, we ship there — if it doesn't, we're not shipping there right now, but that can change quickly, so email hello@stancefitness.co and we'll let you know.
For almost every destination, customs duties and import taxes are included in what you pay — nothing further to pay on delivery.
There are twelve countries where we can't prepay duties: Bahamas, Bermuda, Brazil, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Fiji, Guatemala, Iceland, India, Serbia, Trinidad & Tobago and Turkey. If you're ordering to one of these, customs duty and import tax are payable by you on delivery, and your carrier may add a handling fee.
You'll always know before you pay: your delivery option at checkout reads either "duties & taxes included" or "customs duties payable on delivery". Where duties are payable, the amount is set by your country's customs authority rather than by us, so we can't tell you the exact figure in advance.
